Windows 11: Microsoft plans "Improvements" such as Quick Machine Recovery

Windows[German]Windows 11 is, according to Microsoft, already the "most secure operating system in the galaxy", but it is set to become even more secure – the Microsoft Secure Initiative sends its regards. Microsoft has therefore announced the "Quick Machine Recovery" function on it Ignite 2024 conference, held this week. A feature to get Windows up and running again more quickly after debacles such as Crowd Strike. Virus scanners will no longer run in kernel mode and applications will require administrator rights less frequently. Here is a summary of the numerous "promises".

Windows 11 24H2: Enterprise-Subscription after Upgrade not valid

Windows[German]The other day I came across a case involving a Windows 11 24H2 upgrade issue. Windows clients were upgraded to Windows 11 version 24H2 in a business environment. Afterwards the activation was lost, but it was also no longer possible to activate an Enterprise license. Windows reports, that the Enterprise subscription is not valid.

Stop - Pixabay[German]Brief information for administrators and IT service providers who use PingCastle (now part of Netwrix) to analyze Active Directory security. Due to vulnerabilities in the code, older versions of the Enterprise and Pro editions of the tool should no longer be used for security reasons. Netwrix has updated PingCastle Enterprise and Pro to version 3.3.0.1 o to close the vulnerabilities.

Microsoft 365 MFA mandatory for admins from Feb. 3, 2025

[German]Quick note for administrators of Microsoft 365 tenants. As of February 3, 2025, Microsoft will begin enforcing multifactor authentication (MFA) for access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. The option to suspend this MFA for 14 days will then be removed for the tenants concerned.
