Windows[German]A short addendum from the December 2024 patchday. On December 10, 2024, Microsoft published a critical vulnerability (CVE-2024-49112) in the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). This enables remote attacks on Windows clients and servers, but has been patched. However, there are a number of systems accessible on the Internet via LDAP, which should be avoided or the systems should be specially secured. Here is a brief overview.

Automotive supplier LKQ victim of a cyber attack

New Outlook app drops login error 0x80049dd3

[German]Since December 6, 2025, some users are reporting login issues caused by Microsoft's new Outlook desktop app for Windows. The app refuses a loging and drops an error 0x80049dd3. Although Microsoft claimed they have fixed it the other day, it seems unfixed and is now again under investigation.

Amazon pauses Microsoft 365 rollout due to security concerns after hack

Windows 11 24H2: DHCP problem missing gateway entry

Windows[German]I'm presenting a problem here in the blog that I came across while browsing Microsoft's Answers forums. On some systems, after upgrading to Windows 11 24H2, clients are unable to access a network, either via LAN or WLAN. The cause is a missing gateway entry that cannot be requested by the DHCP server due to a bug. It also does not help to enter the gateway manually, as it is lost again after the restart. An update from November 2024 seems to provide a remedy.
