[German]Swiss provider Proton, known for its encrypted mail service, announced and released its "Docs in Proton" service this week. Similar to Google Docs, users can open an online storage and edit documents in Docs.
[German]The hack of the remote maintenance provider TeamViewer seems to have gone more smoothly than feared. A state actor (APT29) did have access to the company's internal IT environment. However, neither the production environment with the sources and binaries of the remote maintenance software nor customer data appear to have been affected. This was announced by the provider in what is now the third status update.
[German]A quick note for Windows users who have the MSI Center from Micro-Star International installed on their system. There is a Local Privilege Escalation vulnerability CVE-2024-37726 in this software that allows an attacker to gain system privileges. Versions <= 2.0.36.0 are affected – anyone using this software on their system should therefore update to be on the safe side.
[German]There seem to be problems with one of the latest Office updates, which affects the Click2Run versions of Microsoft Office 2016, 2019, 2021 and Office 365 version 2406. [German]Short information for Microsoft Office 365 administrators who use the connector for Microsoft Teams. From August 15, 2024, it will no longer be possible to set up new connections for this piece of software. On October 1, 2024, the product will be discontinued and will no longer work.
