Zabbix version 7.0.0 LTS and 7.0.1 released

[German]Another newsflash – Zabbix version 7.0.0 was released as an LTS release at the beginning of June. Zabbix is a distributed open source monitoring solution for the corporate environment. An overview of the new features can be found here and in the release notes. Zabbix 7.0.1 is now available, with further new features such as VMware event log monitoring.

Kaspersky Antivirus: Sales and update freeze in the USA; sanctions against Kaspersky management

Windows 10 Update KB5036979 bug: Right-click shows 'Open With' dialog

Windows[German]A short addendum to the preview update KB5036979 from April 23, 2024 (and subsequent updates). Unfortunately, a bug has "slipped" into this update, which is eating its way through the systems of Windows 10 users. As soon as one of the updates is installed, right-clicking on certain entries in the taskbar or Start menu runs amok. An Open with dialog is displayed instead of the context menu, as Microsoft has confirmed.

Windows 11 24H2 may break some SMB NAS connections

Windows[German]There are still a few days to go before Windows 11 24H2 is generally rolled out. However, the Windows Insider release preview builds show where there may be problems. One problem area is the SMB service or protocol, to which Microsoft has made some changes. This can lead to NAS drives no longer being accessible from Windows 11 24H2. Crown Equipment Corporation victim of a Ransomware attack

Microsoft requires MFA for all Azure users; it begins in July 2024

[German]Brief information that should have been known since mid-May 2024. Microsoft wants to improve the security of Azure user accounts. Redmond is therefore making multifactor authentication (MFA) mandatory for all Azure user accounts. Implementation is set to begin in July 2024, but will be rolled out in stages.
