Stop: Disable the scanning of documents by Adobe AI solutions!

Stop - Pixabay[German]Adobe has begun to introduce its own AI solutions in its products. There is a risk that Adobe products will begin to scan all documents in companies in order to obtain data for feeding the AI solutions. Administrators should therefore take immediate action to prevent this scanning, until it's clear what's going on. There seems to be a solution for Windows to stop scanning, but I am not aware of anything similar for macOS and other operating systems.

Windows Server: Fix for (Kerberos) LSASS memory leak through March 2024 updates

Windows[German]On March 22, 2024, Microsoft released a special update with a fix for Windows Server that eliminates an LSASS memory leak caused by the March 2024 updates. I had reported here in the blog that on some systems Kerberos requests on domain controllers fill up the memory. The servers then experience performance problems or even fail and have to be restarted sporadically. This problem is to be resolved by the special updates for both local and cloud-based Active Directory DLCs. There is no fix for Windows Server 2019 yet. Addendum: The fix for Server 2019 is available since March 25, 2024.

Microsoft has fixed an Exchange EWS issue from March 14, 2024 on Macs

Exchange Logo[German]A small addendum from this week. A reader emailed me a few days ago to say that there was a problem with Microsoft Exchange in connection with a mail client with EWS. According to the reader's observations, this has been occurring since 14.3.2024: Mail clients only sporadically connect to Exchange EWS on the Mac. Here is some information about the "permanent construction site" Microsoft Exchange connection on the Mac, which I had already taken up in the blog. The problem should have been resolved since March 19, 2024.

Is Broadcom going downhill with its VMware measures? Silent layoffs and CISPE calls for EU measures

[German]Are we currently witnessing how Broadcom is driving virtualization specialist VMware downhill? Instead of earing huge revenues, the vendor will eventually be faced with a shambles? I have often reported on the trials and tribulations of Broadcom's management. Now I have come across the fact that many VMware employees with US visas are at risk of losing their jobs, which could mean a loss of around 40% of the workforce. And the European cloud operators' association CISP is calling for the EU to intervene because it believes the business of cloud providers and customers who use VMware products is under threat. The background to this is the termination of long-standing contracts by Broadcom, together with new contracts that result in massive price increases.

Windows Server: March 2024 update causes LSASS memory leak on DCs

Windows[German]I'm pulling it out separately in a blog post after several blog readers pointed it out to me. The March 2024 security update from March 12, 2024 for Windows Server causes a memory leak in LSASS (for all Windows Server variants), which then leads to performance problems on domain controllers (DC) after some time and may send them to digital nirvana. Here is some information on this issue. Addendum: The issue has been confirmed.

Microsoft PKI vulnerability – a warning without details …

A little info that recently came to my attention. Microsoft seems to have informed some people that they have found a configuration problem in the Microsoft Cloud Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
