There is a vulnerability in the MOVEit Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution that allows privilege escalation and unauthorized access to the software's environment. The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has issued a threat level 4 warning. This is because it is now known that the MOVEit Transfer Zero Day vulnerability is being exploited on a large scale to steal data. In the meantime, however, security updates are available, and administrators must perform additional checks for compromises.

I'm bringing up an issue that is currently bugging Windows Server 2022 (and Windows 11) administrators. After installing the cumulative update KB5026370 for Windows Server 2022, it is no longer possible to query "Effective Permissions" in Explorer. Windows Explorer loads the CPU, but nothing happens. Microsoft has already released a toool for HVCI-Memory Integrity Compatibility Checks (hvciscan.exe) for Windows 10 and Windows 11 at the beginning of May 2023.
