[German]Apple users are currently experiencing a problem when trying to access an Outlook mailbox via OWA in Safari. A TokenFactoryIFrame is downloaded every few seconds. I think the problem has only been occurring for a few days. I've seen also users claiming this for Chrome on iPads. It seems, that Microsoft has to fix this issue.
[German]Brief note for people who run a Windows 10 with Intel processors of the 6th to 10th generation. If sporadic system crashes occur under Windows 10 (64 bit), a faulty Intel graphics driver newer than version 27.20.100.8587 may be the cause. The graphics drivers cause a memory leak in the Desktop Windows Manager. The problem is known since 2020, if my research is not deceiving. However, there has been a fix from Intel since Dec. 2021 in the form of the Windows DCH driver 30.0.101.1191.
[German]Mozilla developers have released versions 100.0 and 91.9esr of the Firefox browser on May 3, 2022. This is a new development branch which, according to the Security Advisory, fixes critical vulnerabilities. Thanks to 1St1 for the tip.
Microsoft has updated the Chromium Edge browser to version 100.0.1185.57 as of May 2, 2022. This is a maintenance update that fixes various bugs and performance issues for the Extended Stable version, according to the release notes. However, Microsoft doesn't seem to have published any details yet (the release notes page doesn't take the update into account yet).
[German]A quick note for administrators and users who use the Trend Micro Apex One product and at the same time use Microsoft Edge as a browser under Windows. I have now received numerous reports on the blog that Trend Micro Apex One is classifying the msedge_200_percent.pak file from Edge 101.0.1210.32 as malware/trojan. This is a false positive. The car rental company Sixt has become a victim of a cyber attack over the weekend. Already on Friday, April 29, 2022, the cyberattack kicked the provider's systems into overdrive. As n-tv reports here, there were massive restrictions on the booking of rental cars. These had to be made in paper form, and Sixt could not be reached by phone either.
[German]Microsoft has announced the general availability of Defender for Business as of May 2, 2022. It is a standalone endpoint antivirus protection solution for small and medium-sized businesses. So, the solution goes beyond the Windows-integrated Defender in functionality, providing malware, phishing and ransomware protection on Android, macOS, iOS and Windows.
[German]Are there issues managing group policies between Windows 10 and Windows 11? This is indicated by a post that came to my attention in the patchmanagement.org mailing list the other day. It says that group policies set under Windows 11 may not be able to be adjusted on Windows 10 clients in some settings. I'll post it on the blog, and ask if anyone has noticed anything similar.
[German]Microsoft plans in May 2022 to switch systems with Microsoft 365 currently in semi-annual enterprise channel to the monthly enterprise channel. This means that the Office apps will then be updated every month. Administrators, who do not want this must actively initiate an opt-out in the Microsoft 365 Apps Admin Center untill May 20, 2022. The information has been distributed as a notification in the Admin Center at the end of April 2022. Here is some information about this process.
[German]Microsoft has released the preview update KB5012643 for Windows 11 on April 25, 2022. However, the update can cause display problems in safe mode, so that this mode can no longer be used. Microsoft has since confirmed the bug and is rolling back the patches via KIR. Here is a brief overview of this issue.
