[German]A ransomware called DarkRadiation targets Linux systems from Red Hat, CentOS or Debian-based distributions. Security vendor Trend Micro points this out in a new blog post. The malware does so using tools to detect the environment and then spread laterally across networks via spreader script.

[German]Today another small blog post about installation problems with Windows 10 updates with a surprising cause. I came across a case where the installation of update KB5003635 fails on Windows 10 version 1909 clients. The cause is bizarre: an outdated version of Robocopy. [German]Due to a bug, the developers of the VLC Player had to withdraw version 3.0.15, which was released on June 8, 2021. Now version 3.0.16 is available for Linux, macOS and Windows. There is no changelog yet, but the version is supposed to fix the D3D11 crash on Windows 8.1. The update is not yet offered in the VLC player. However, the download is already possible on the FTP server.
