Ransomware attack on the US pipeline – the house is burning

Sicherheit (Pexels, allgemeine Nutzung)[German]Last week, there was a ransomware attack on the operator of a pipeline on the US East Coast, as a result of which the pipeline had to be shut down. Now, figuratively speaking, everywhere is on fire. The U.S. president has declared a local state of emergency. And the consequences are stirring up so much dust that the DarkSide gang has announced extraordinary steps. In addition, it has just come to light that the insurance company AXA will no longer reimburse ransomware ransom payments.

Security Updates (KB5003435) for Microsoft Exchange Server (May 11, 2021)

(May 11, 2021)) Security updates released for Exchange Server 2013, Exchange Server 2016 and Exchange Server 2019. This is to immediately close a Microsoft Exchange Server spoofing vulnerability (CVE-2021-31209). Security update KB5003435 is available for download from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Reserve some time today (05/11/2021) to patch Exchange servers.  If the available information is correct, Microsoft is rolling out a critical hotfix for Microsoft Exchange Server in the coming hours (around 10:00 a.m. PST), which should be installed promptly.

Office 365 blocks emails from Google & LinkedIn domains

[German]Currently it seems that users of Microsoft Office 365 are facing issues receiving emails send from Google & LinkedIn domains. These emails are rejected in some cases. Microsoft has confirmed that and is working on a solution, and it seems that the issue has been resolved.

Office 365: Autocomplete in Outlook broken (May 2021)

[German]Since the end of April 2021, numerous users have been complaining about a broken autocomplete display in Outlook that only shows large icons and the entries are no longer readable. The whole thing probably occurs with Outlook version 2016 and 2019 and seems to have been triggered by a Microsoft Office 365 update from late April 2021.
