Windows 11 24H2: Attention with Veeam backups; recovery does not work

Windows[German]A short note or addendum for users of Windows 11 24H2 who rely on Veeam Backup & Recovery. Rudi has already pointed out to me on March 22, 2025 that the restore functionality of Veeam backups via Veeam Recovery in Windows 11 no longer works. Windows updates from February 2025 seem to be to blame. Veeam has confirmed this and is working with Microsoft to resolve the issue.

Windows 10/11: Preview Updates March 25/27, 2025

Windows[German]Microsoft has released optional cumulative (preview) updates for Windows 10 22H2 (KB5053643) and Windows 11 22H2-23H2 (KB5053657) on March 25, 2025. Addendum: The preview update KB5053656 for Windows 11 24H2 has been released on March 27, 2025.  These updates contain corrections that can be tested and will then be generally rolled out as fixes in the following month. It should be noted that preview updates must be manually initiated for download and installation by default (although Windows 11 22H2 and later contains options for automatic installation).

VMware vCenter: Update tokens required as of April 23, 2025

It looks like Broadcom is going to throw the next chicane into the ring for VMware vCenter customers. From April 23, 2025, vCenter administrators will probably only be able to pull and distribute updates with update tokens.

Does Outlook.com store attachments in OneDrive? Microsoft 365 will use OneDrive from March 2025

[German]One of my followers on Mastodon recently pointed out to me that emails with attachments sent via outlook.live.com are "unintentionally" saving these attachments in OneDrive. Has anyone else noticed this? I then did some research and found that there was an announcement on March 5, 2025 that Microsoft 365 will use OneDrive to store folders from March 2025. This runs under the term OneDrive Known Folder Move (KFM). I'll include this information in the article.

EX1038119: Exchange Online quarantines mails (21.3.2025)

Microsoft has posted a message in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under EX1038119 that a bug is being investigated that causes messages to end up in quarantine by mistake.
