[German]Microsoft has released a new Security Advisory on November 6, 2018 with hints for hardware and software encryption on Bitlocker SSD drives. Fits to a topic that I mentioned a few hours ago in a separate blog post.
[German]There is a problem with task scheduling in Windows (Task Scheduler). The trigger 'At startup' may fail sporadically when executing a task under very special conditions. In the Event Viewer, an entry ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE (2147943726) with the ID 101 may be found in the event history of the task scheduler.
[German]Security researchers have found vulnerabilities in popular SSD drives. These make it possible to bypass an data encryption and read the encrypted data without the encryption key. Windows and its Bitlocker encryption are particularly affected. But there are solutions to avoid this weakness.
[German]It looks as if file types under Windows 10 Version 1803 cannot be assigned to certain applications, as is actually intended by Microsoft. Here is some information about this topic.
[German]Just a brief information about some observation, we made. Stefan Kanthak pointed out, that Microsoft probably is shutting down silently the "Hotfix Download Service". And it seems that Microsoft's FixIt solutions will be retired.

[German]Microsoft released Service Pack 3 for SQL Server 2014 at the end of October 2018. This Service Pack contains a couple of fixes and improvements for SQL Server 2014.
[German]Windows contains a feature that creates a backup copy of the registry files at regular intervals. In Windows 10, however, it looks as if this task fails in versions 1803 and 1809.
[German]Microsoft is probably able to track the Microsoft store app history, i.e. what you have loaded as an app in the store, even without a Microsoft account. This may be shown within the store's app history.
A brief information for Windows 7 users. Update KB4462923 (Monthly Rollup for October 2018) has been re-released on November 1, 2018 . It's available again via Windows Update as an important update and is provided in Microsoft Update Catalog.
Just a brief note: As of November 1, 2018, Microsoft has released some revision for CVEs for Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac.
