Windows 11 24H2: Camera bug fixed; new problem with DRM media playback

Windows[German]Brief update from the end of last week. Microsoft has announced that it has finally fixed a camera bug (existing since 2024) that caused apps to freeze. However, after installing the August 2025 Preview Update (and subsequent updates), some apps will no longer be able to display or record live TV or play content protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM).

Fortra GoAnywhere MFT: Critical vulnerability CVE-2025-10035

Cyberattack on airport service provider; delays at European Airports (September 20, 2025)

An airport service provider (according to my information, Collins Aerospace) operating across Europe was apparently hit by a cyberattack. This caused major delays in check-in at BER Airport (Berlin-Brandenburg International) because everything had to be done manually. Brussels and London Heathrow are also struggling with check-in problems and resulting delays.

Two alleged members of Scattered Spider arrested

BMW Group seems to be victim of the Everest ransomware group

The Everest ransomware group lists BMW group as one of its victims. Everest claimed that a successful attack also resulted in the theft of internal documents (e.g., for auditing purposes). The incident dates back to September 14, 2025. I was able to view some documents since publishing my German blog post.
