[German]Brief reminder for administrators in enterprise environments. On March 28, 2023, Microsoft will turn on its Unified Update Platform (UUP). This applies to Windows 11 version 22H2 for now and is intended to bring the power of Windows Update and Windows Update for Business to local Windows clients. It will be delivered with an update, but administrators may need to prepare WSUS or SCCM accordingly.
[German]No, it's not an April Fool's joke – it's still March. But as of April 1, 2023, Microsoft's cloud offerings will simply become a bit more expensive. True, it had already been announced in January 2023 – no one really took note of that either. Microsoft is thus heralding a new policy in which the subscription prices are to be reviewed every six months and adjusted to the dollar prices if necessary.
[German]The daily Edge update give us today. Yesterday I had published the blog post Edge: 111.0.1661.51; 110.0.1587.78; and 109.0.1518.95 (for Server 2012 R2); disable Bing button and PDF test. A couple of howrs later, Microsoft is pushing the update to version 111.0.1661.54 for the browser on March 24, 2023. Now the sidebar of the discover button (Bing button) can be disabled.
[German]Microsoft has updated the Edge browser to version 111.0.1661.51 on March 21, 2023 in the Stable Channel, and there is version 110.0.1587.78 in the Extended Stable Channel. In addition, there is probably a version 109.0.1518.95 that should run on Windows Server 2012 R2. [German]A German blog reader contacted me the other day because he noticed a very crude effect under Windows 10 and Windows 11 in his enterprise environment. The user logon to the user account sometimes takes a very long time, namely when employees switch from the company network to the home office and want to log on there with the notebooks. I'll post this case here in the blog – maybe someone from the readership knows something about it or has an idea why the described effect occurs.

[German]Brief addendum to the March 2023 patchday. Microsoft did provide the critical RCE vulnerability CVE-2023-23397 in Outlook with a security update on March 14, 2023. But the patch is incomplete, the attack can still be triggered with somewhat modified emails. And in the meantime, a proof of concept is public, demonstrating how the vulnerability is exploited.
[German]Small addendum from Tuesday, because Microsoft has released other updates for March 21, 2023, in addition to various updates for Windows 10 (see Windows 10: Preview Update KB5023773 and OOBE Update KB5025801 (March 21, 2023)). There is Setup Dynamic Update KB5023847 for Windows 10, and both OOBE updates KB5025799 and KB5025800 for Windows 11 have also been released on this date.
[German]Some days ago an administrator reported in my German blog that he had this problem when logging in to Windows clients that were members of a domain. After various tests, it turned out that very many files in the TEMP folder of the user profile are the cause of this behavior.
[German]Google has released updates to Google Chrome browser 111 in the stable channel for Mac, Linux and Windows on March 21, 2023. These are security updates that fix critical vulnerabilities. The Extended Stable Channel and the apps for Android and iOS have also been updated.

[German]Mozilla's developer have released versions 111.0.1 of the Firefox browser on March 21, 2023. The new version is a maintenance update, which is supposed to fix bugs.
