For users of very old Apple iPhones and various Samsung Android smartphones, WhatsApp will end it's upport as of today, December 31, 2022. That means, that it's no longer possible, to install the WhatsApp app on such a device. That's because Meta, the operator of the WhatsApp service, has announced the end of support for older OS versions, which affects 49 older smartphone models.
[German]There are reports from Windows 11 users about issues installing Dec. 13, 2022 security updates KB5021255 (Windows 11 22H2) or KB5021234 (Windows 11 21H2). A German blog reader has contacted me because in his company all Windows 11 clients refuse update installation. But there are also references on the web, where the problem is also addressed.

[German]Users of Microsoft Outlook (365) suffer from crashes every now and then, which occur after any updates. In September 2022 there was such a case, which was then fixed in October 2022. Now a user has contacted me who has Microsoft Outlook crashes again in his environment, with Microsoft's workarounds not helping. I've posted it here on the blog, maybe there are more affected.

Security researchers warns in a blog post that the GodFather malware is back. GodFather is a notorious Android banking Trojan known for targeting bank users, especially in European countries. Currently, the Trojan probably targets Android users in Turkey via the app called MYT Müzik, which is written in Turkish.
[German]Citrix has been releasing security updates for critical vulnerabilities in Citrix ADC and gateway products and issuing security alerts for them over the past few months. However, it appears that thousands of Citrix ADCs and Citrix Gateways are vulnerable with respect to vulnerabilities CVE-2022-27510 and CVE-2022-27518. The vulnerabilities allow an attacker to take over the affected instances.
[German]Twitter have had technical issues at 00:00 UTC on Dec. 29, 2022. The Twitter service hasn't running smoothly. When displaying various tweets, everything was still fine an hour before midnight. But currently (December 29, 2022, 00:50 a.m. UTC) I can no longer access some tweets. Messages are only displayed very slowly or I get an error message and see the information that I should log in again if necessary.

The results are quite exciting in terms of the programming languages used, the cloud provider, the frameworks used or the operating system used for development. [German]Microsoft Exchange on-premises servers that are not up to date with the latest patches are vulnerable to attacks via the ProxyNotShell vulnerabilities. Then, a couple of days ago, there was information that the hacker group FIN7 had been setting up an automated attack platform to penetrate vulnerable Exchange servers. And now the information reaches me that possibly up to 70,000 Exchange servers worldwide are vulnerable to FIN7 ProxyNotShell attacks.
