Sicherheit (Pexels, allgemeine Nutzung)[German]The number of publicly disclosed vulnerabilities affecting medical devices, industrial control systems (ICS) or the extended Internet of Things (XIoT) is continuously increasing. In the last four years, the number of disclosed vulnerabilities in industrial control systems (ICS) has more than doubled (up 110%). In the second half of 2021 alone, the number increased by 25 percent compared to the previous six months. This is according to a corresponding report by security provider Claroty.

Still wipe issues when resetting Windows 10 (20H2 – 21H2) and Windows 11

Windows[German]In Windows 10 version (20H2 – 21H2) as well as in Windows 11 there is a problem when resetting the operating system if all user files are to be deleted (wipe) at the same time. The problem was already noticed some time ago and has been confirmed in the meantime. The March 2022 updates were supposed to correct the problem, but they don't seem to work reliably. Ubisoft hacked by Lapsus$ cyber gang (March 2022)

Now the cyber gang Lapsus$ has claimed responsibility for the cyber attack. After the hack of Nvidia and Samsung, it is now the third case in which the group has hacked a major company.

GPS spoofing: Finland warns of false GPS signals in Baltic Sea area

Microsoft Office Update KB5002160 (March 1, 2022) breaks Access db connections

[German]As of March 1, 2022, Microsoft has released regular updates for the MSI installation versions of Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016. After installing these updates, users complain that accessing Access databases from applications no longer works. The applications hang or throw errors.

CERT-EU warns of SMBv3 vulnerability CVE-2022-24508, fix through Windows March 2022 updates

Sicherheit (Pexels, allgemeine Nutzung)[German]With the March 8, 2022 security updates for Windows, Microsoft has fixed a number of vulnerabilities. Among them is a Remote Code Execution vulnerability (REC) in Windows SMBv3 Client/Server that is rated as important. CERT-EU issued a recent advisory warning about this SMBv3 vulnerability, CVE-2022-24508, and recommends promptly installing updates or applying measures to prevent exploitation of the vulnerability. Fortunately, exploitation requires authentication by the attacker and exploitation in the wild is also not known so far.

WordPress Version 5.9.2

WordPress 5.9.2 was released on March 10, 2022. It is a security update that fixes three vulnerabilities and one bug. The bug is a fix in the live preview of themes. I didn't find anything about the security fixes – but all versions from WordPress 3.7 onwards have been updated accordingly.

Issues with Exchange March 2022 Updates

Update[German]As of March 8, 2022, Microsoft has released several cumulative updates for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, 2016 and 2019. However, some systems are experiencing issues such as Exchange Control Panel (ECP) no longer working. On some systems, the "Microsoft Exchange Service Host" crashes regularly. However, there is a solution for this crash.

Update[German]As of March 8, 2022, Microsoft has also released a cumulative security update KB5011486 for Internet Explorer. This closes the vulnerabilities CVE-2022-23299 and CVE-2022-24502.
