On January 4, 2022, support for BlackBerry ends

As a reminder, legacy services for BlackBerry 7.1 OS and earlier versions, BlackBerry 10 software, BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 and earlier versions will no longer be available starting January 4, 2022.  After that date, devices running these legacy services and software over carrier or Wi-Fi connections will no longer work reliably, including for data, calls, SMS and emergency call functions. SonicWall E-Mail Security Appliance has also a Year 2022 Bug

[German]A quick information/question for the administrators who have a SonicWall email security appliance in use. Do you have error messages in the log files since 1/1/2022 that indicate a date error? I guess the firmware has the same problem as Microsoft Exchange, that a date conversion leads to an overflow.

Temporary Fix for Exchange Year 2022 Bug FIP-FS Scan Engine failed to load (Jan. 1, 2022)

[German]Microsoft has now delivered a temporary fix for the year 2022 bug that prevents (on-premises) Exchange Servers to transport mails since January 1, 2022. Since I expect that Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, some people will discover that Exchange Server is "broken," I'm summarizing everything worth knowing again in this addendum.

Microsoft confirms Exchange Year 2022 problem that FIP-FS Scan Engine failed to load (Jan. 1, 2022)

[German]Exchange servers (on-premises) have had woldwide a Year 2022 problem since January 1 (00:00 UTC), because mails are no longer transported due to a "date error". Meanwhile, Microsoft has confirmed this issue in a separate blog post. The developers are working on a fix, which should be rolled out soon. Addendum: A fix ist available.

Pixel 6/6 Pro: Google has stopped the rollout of December 2021 Update

Google has stopped the rollout of the December 2021 Android security update for its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. The reason: After the update was released, some users reported that calls were interrupted or the connection dropped. Google claims to have found a solution, which will be released with a software update at the end of January. This update will also include all the fixes and improvements that were originally planned for December. Those who have already received the December software update on the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro and still experience mobile connectivity issues can revert to the previous software version via Android Flash Tool, according to this info.

Windows Defender: Fixes, Issues and Log4j scanner false alarms

For Windows Server 2019, a problem with Defender has probably been fixed with the December 2021 updates. On the other hand, a Defender problem in Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2 has been going on for months without being fixed. And to make matters worse, Microsoft has rolled out a Microsoft 365 Defender Log4j scanner that triggers an alert in Defender from the OpenHandleCollector.exe process.
