Windows[German]As of May 11, 2021, several Windows 10 versions are out of support and have reached their End of Life, meaning they will no longer receive security updates in the future. Microsoft recommends upgrading to current Windows 10 builds, but not every user can do that. The security provider ACROS Security has now announced that it will provide security patches for Windows 10 version 1809 for one year. Here is some information on this topic.

Microsoft Teams released, free for private use

MS TeamsMicrosoft Teams (MS Teams) s a platform launched globally in 2017 that combines chat, (video) meetings, notes and attachments. The service is integrated into the Microsoft 365 suite with Microsoft Office and Skype/Skype for Business – and also into Office Web for private users. Microsoft released its Microsoft Teams for private free use today, May 17, 2021. This marks the end of the previous Teams preview program. Microsoft has published this blog post with some details  about the release of MS Teams for the private environment. Teams can be used directly from a browser like Edge or Chrome. However, in the Ungoogled browser I get an error message when calling Teams because I have blocked the acceptance of third-party cookies.

Windows 10 Version 2004/20H2: Audio issue "high-pitched noise" after Update

Windows[German]New issue for users of a Windows 10 versions 2004, 20H2 (and the upcoming 21H1). After updates, audio problems with 5.1-channel sound can occur with installed preview update KB5000842 from March 2021. Microsoft is currently investigating this bug.

Windows[German]On May 13, 2021, there were security updates for Windows 10 versions 1803 and 1809 in the Enterprise and Education variants for the last time on Patchday. And also for Windows 10 version 1909, the supply with security updates ends for the Home and Pro variants. All these Windows 10 versions have thus reached the end of support.

Colonial Pipeline Attack: Wasted $5 Million and uses vulnerable Exchange Servers

In the meantime, it has become known that the company probably "wasted" a ransom of 5 million US dollars. There was a decryption key, but importing backups was faster. DarkSide gang lost access to it's servers

They claim that their servers where seized and the cryptocurrency was transferred from their account to an unknown wallet. That was claimed in a message posted within he Russian OSINT Telegram channel and also on the cyber gangs web site. Addendum: An analysis showed that the gang collected $17.5 million ransome.
