[German]Short addendum from last week – on February 12, 2025, Microsoft released a FSLogix update to 25.02 (3.25.202.4223). The release notes state that – among other things – the cache should now be deleted cleanly. Could solve some problems in this environment. Fixed a problem related to symlink reparse points that affected App-V and other components with similar calls.
[German]A German blog reader contacted me on February 13, 2025 because he was experiencing problems with his WSUS. The Windows clients had not reported to WSUS since February 12, 2025. This could be corrected by reading back the backup. But the question is whether anyone else has noticed anything like this, or whether it is an isolated case? After publishing the German article, other admins reported also this issue.
[German]In my opinion, it is still a left over from the time when Microsoft wanted to make a splash with Windows Mobile phones and Cortana. Back then, the "Location Service" was implemented in Windows. Microsoft has now announced that the "Location History" is classified as obsolete and will be removed from future Windows versions at some point.

[German]To officially install Windows 11 24H2, Microsoft requires the use of a compatible CPU. An updated list of compatible CPUs for AMD and Intel was published a few days ago. Not much has really changed – AMD has added a CPU, while Intel has dropped support for various CPUs for new OEM devices.
[German]Since the release of Windows Server 2025, a boot problem in iSCSI environments was confirmed by Microsoft as a known issue. Microsoft has now provided a fix for this problem on February 11, 2025 and lists the issue as resolved. This can be seen from an entry on the relevant Microsoft Windows Release Health dashboard.

[German]A German blog reader contacted me a few days ago with a strange observation. The reader uses a backup solution that is launched cyclically via the Windows task scheduler. Since December 2024, however, the reader has noticed that the tasks of the task scheduler no longer run cleanly, but are deactivated. It affects a Windows computer in his environment, and it was unclear what is responsible for the deactivation of the backup task. After publishing the German blog post, the reader found out, that CCleaner was the culprit.
[German]Microsoft updated information on two known bugs in Windows 11 24H2 in February 2025. Firstly, the support article that addresses the issue of Dirac Audio losing audio output when using cridspapo.dll was updated. And the bug that the use of Auto HDR can cause games to become unresponsive or display incorrect colors is said to have been fixed.
