Blast RADIUS attack enables RADIUS authentication to be bypassed

The vulnerability, called Blast-RADIUS, could jeopardize network security in companies because RADIUS network authentication can be circumvented.

Lenovo L15 Gen 3: Warning about BlackScreen after BIOS update to v1.30

[German]Next warning about BIOS updates for Lenovo Thinkpad L15 – the Gen 3 models are also affected by a problem in BIOS version 1.30. A reader recently informed me that a Lenovo L15 Gen 3 (Intel) notebook broke after a BIOS update to version 1.30. The notebook ended up with a black screen. The notebook ended up with a black screen. There are indications that various Thinkpad models may be affected. This is particularly unfortunate as Lenovo has updated some BIOS versions due to UEFI vulnerabilities. Addendum: Looks like Gen 2 models are also affected.

Midnight Blizzard hack: Microsoft sends notification to customers by email that ends up in SPAM folders

[German]After Microsoft's e-mail system (Exchange Online, Outlook.com) was compromised by Russian hackers from the state sponsored group Midnight Blizzard Hackers, Microsoft recently had to admit that e-mails to customers were also affected. In an attempt to inform customers, Microsoft made the next blunder. The notifications were sent to the "Global Administrators" of the tenants of the affected companies. Notifications were not retrieved or ended up in the spam folder, or were classified as SPAM because Microsoft made further cardinal errors.

Windows Server 2019: Daily DNS failures with Event ID 404

It's about Windows Server 2019, where there is a problem with the domain controller in the morning hours because the DNS service fails. This is not limited to one system, but occurs on several customer systems. I'm posting it on the blog to find out if there are any others affected.

Outlook: Old clients will be deactivated in mid-July 2024

[German]I'm posting some information here on the blog that I came across a few days ago. From mid-July 2024, older Outlook clients and web browsers will refuse to work with Microsoft email accounts. Users will then have to update their clients in order to continue sending and receiving emails.
