Windows 11 will offer more control over updates

WindowsMicrosoft has announced that it plans to refocus Windows 11 a bit more on reliability and user-friendliness. One of the features currently being tested with Insiders is improved control over update installation. You can postpone updates multiple times using a "calendar." Are there issues with Outlook.com on iOS and other clients?

Stop - PixabayThere has been an issue with Outlook.com for several hours now, affecting North America for certain and likely Europe as well. Regarding the outage: Users are experiencing intermittent difficulties logging in to the Outlook.com service, which is preventing them from accessing their mailboxes. Sony PlayStation: Age Verification for Chat and 30-Day License Validation

Stop - PixabaySony has introduced two changes to its PlayStation that may leave some players feeling miffed. For one, the chat feature will now require age verification. This means that minors playing multiplayer games who fall below a certain age threshold will no longer be able to participate in chats or use communication features. Another (apparently unannounced) change is likely to have even more serious consequences. Purchases of games are subject to a 30-day license validation period. The GitHub Disaster on April 23, 2026 – Who broke It?

Stop - PixabayOutages on GitHub are piling up, the GitHub team is frustrated, and Microsoft is piling on with Copilot. Then, on April 23, 2026, am "incident" randomly destroyed GitHub repositories during commit operation. On GitHub there is now a Incident with Pull Requests report. Windows 10/11 warning: "File history disconnected for too long?"

Microsoft allows administrators to uninstall the Copilot app

Copilot[German]With the April 2026 updates for Windows, Microsoft has given administrators the ability to uninstall the Copilot app. This is possible starting with Windows 11 25H2, provided that update KB5083769 (or one of its subsequent updates) is installed. The policy settings allow administrators to selectively uninstall Microsoft Copilot from devices entirely or for specific users. Samsung's April 2026 Android update breaks Microsoft 365 apps / Authenticator

[German]Samsung has apparently been rolling out the April 2026 Android security update for several days now. A reader pointed out to me that there are serious issues with Microsoft 365 apps on Android once the update is installed. Microsoft Teams and the Authenticator no longer work. Other Microsoft 365 apps are reportedly affected as well. Disabling the Private DNS option is said to help.

Microsoft Teams 26072.519.4556.7438: Right-click bug on desktop

Teams[German]The Microsoft Teams desktop client has been experiencing a bug on both macOS and Windows since the update to build 26072.519.4556.7438 was rolled out. The issue is that right-clicking no longer works in the desktop client. Clipboard operations may need to be performed using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, and Ctrl+V.
