EdgeMicrosoft has updated the Edge browser to version 114.0.1823.67 as of June 29, 2023. The release notes state that various bugs and performance issues have been fixed for the Microsoft Edge browser stable and extended stable channel. According to the colleagues from deskmodder 3 vulnerabilities have been fixed.

Twitter locks out users without account … Nitter also down

[German]Unpleasant surprise of a special kind by Twitter. As of June 30, 2023, users who do not have an account with Twitter will no longer be able to access content on the short messaging service. They will be redirected to a registration page.

Windows Defender: High load since update 1.391.2901.0

Windows[German]Microsoft has just rolled out an update for the Windows Defender scan engine to version 1.391.2901.0. Now I have a report that this drives up CPU usage, e.g. when printing. Remedy is to remove the definition update.

Windows 11: Optimize network transfer performance and CPU load – part 2

Windows[German]Windows 11 has a problem with network throughput when receiving files. In part 1, I had presented some measurements that a blog reader had taken during tests to analyze the weakening network throughput and the high CPU load under Windows 11. After various researches and probably also contact with Microsoft, the cause is now clear. The security features that Microsoft's developers have built into Windows 11 (and Server 2019/2022) are responsible. Fortunately, however, this can be configured or optimized (which may also become relevant for Windows Server 2019/2022).
