There was sporadic feedback from readers pointing out minor problems. [German]Hard drive manufacturer Western Digital had admitted to a cyber attack on its IT networks on April 3, 2023. Now the hackers responsible for this attack have probably revealed details to a US medium. Thus, 10 terabytes of data could be stolen. The hackers are demanding a hefty ransom sum.
[German]German Rheinmetall Group (defence and automotiv supplier) and its subsidiaries have been hit by a cyber attack. This is already the second attack within a few months – this time probably successful. The attack has been known since Friday, April 14, 2023, although few details have become public. A prosecutor's office has launched an investigation. Exactly how serious this attack, which could be related to the defense company's activities and also affects subsidiaries such as the automotive supplier Kolbenschmidt in Neckarsulm, is currently unknown.
[German]Microsoft has integrated its Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) directly into the Windows operating system with the April 2023 patchday (April 11, 2023). This was done due to "popular demand" from enterprise customers, as Microsoft wrote.
