Microsoft Outlook users seem to have the problem that one of the latest updates from May 2022 has corrupted the ability to display HTML mail. Only text or a blank mail can be displayed. Follina: Attack via Word documents and ms-msdt protocol (CVE-2022-30190)

Windows[German]A new attack vector has been known since the weekend that abuses the Microsoft Support Diagnostics Utility via the ms-msdt: protocol to download and abuse malicious Word documents (or Excel spreadsheets) from the web. Windows 10 21H2: Explorer and taskbar issues due to "HP Development Company, L.P. – Extension – 8.10.5.34686"

Windows[German]Brief  info in the round of the owners of HP Windows PCs to a problem and immediately the question whether someone is affected. On these computers there are problems since a short time, the taskbar freezes under Windows, the Explorer crashes with errors or the whole Windows PC does not react anymore. It looks like the driver "HP Development Company, L.P. – Extension" is causing the problem.

Microsoft finds vulnerabilities in apps from major mobile providers (May 2022)

[German]The Microsoft 365 Defender Research Team has found some vulnerabilities in a mobile framework from mce Systems. The problem: This framework is used by some apps that mobile providers deliver preinstalled on their smartphones. Thus, millions of users were vulnerable via these apps. Even though Microsoft only investigated US mobile providers and they have updated the apps in the meantime, the incident once again shows how shaky the entire app model basically is due to the use of various frameworks.

Microsoft Access: Issues with SQL database access because of ODBC driver?

[German]Brief information for the readership and at the same time the question if someone is already affected. I received a user message that Microsoft Access suddenly had problems with SQL database access. All databases suddenly showed the value '#DELETED' in the tables. Broadcom acquires VMware for 61 billion US-$

[German]There is an agreement from Broadcom with the management of the cloud and virtualization specialist VMware, to acquire VMware (if the competition authorities approve). Broadcom confirmed this in an announcement dated May 25, 2022. The purchase price is expected to be around 61 billion US Dollar.

Vulnerabilities CVE-2022-27507 and CVE-2022-27508 in Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway

Sicherheit (Pexels, allgemeine Nutzung)[German]Two vulnerabilities CVE-2022-27507 and CVE-2022-27508 exist in Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway, for which the vendor has issued a security bulletin. The vulnerabilities discovered in Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway allow attackers to launch a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. The vendor has released updates to address these vulnerabilities. U.S. CISA is urging immediate patching of the vulnerabilities, which are rated medium and high.
