Fujitsu computer: Windows restart after shutdown

Windows[German]Blog reader Timo J. informed me about a special observation on February 7, 2022. He observed that since that date certain Fujitsu computers (P400 E85+) simply boot up again after shutdown, as if the computer had been restarted. This happens only as long as the LAN cable is plugged in, he found out. So far there are only two computers, but exactly the same model, with the same problem. The January 2022 update is released, the February 2022 update was not installed there yet. Solution: Disable the LAN option in Wake Up Resources in the BIOS. The problem should have to do with WOL. To be on the safe side, he also disabled the corresponding options for network adapters in Device Manager. Maybe it helps someone.

Microsoft probably secretly fixes vulnerability in Defender under Windows

Windows[German]Microsoft Defender attracted attention some time ago due to a vulnerability in Windows that allowed malware to query the folders left out by the antivirus. It now looks like Microsoft has quietly corrected this vulnerability, because administrator privileges are now required to access this information on Windows. However, it is probably not yet fixed on all Windows systems and it is also unclear whether the fix will come via Windows Update (February 2022 patchday) or via an update to Defender on Windows.
