[German]Microsoft has published some Security Update Releases notifications and also revisions in October 2021. Since I have not been able to cover everything so far, I am summarizing the relevant notifications in a collective post. The security information ranges from a "Windows Key Storage Provider Security Feature Bypass Vulnerability" to the Azure AD Security Feature Bypass Vulnerability.
[German]It's an issue that seems to have blown up in some administrators' faces in mid-October 2021. VMware ESXI 7.0 administrators were getting a "non-accessible boot device" error message on virtualized Windows Server 2012 R2 machines. Then the server would no longer boot. The cause was a patch from Microsoft for the paravirtualized SCSI adapters.
[German]A few days ago, more Russian cyberattacks against U.S. companies became known. These are patterned after the SolarWinds attack, this time targeting Microsoft partners. Security researcher Tenable criticizes cloud service providers for ignoring basic security practices, thus abetting these attacks.
[German]It's November 1, 2021, and the question arises about the status of printing problems in Windows. After all, Microsoft has been patching the PrintNightmare vulnerability since summer, but keeps creating new problems. Even in early Nov. 2021, the printing problems have not been fixed.
[German]Microsoft promised, with Windows 11 everything will be better, more beautiful and faster – at least if you believe Microsoft's marketing. The only thing that is a bit stupid is that the developers in Redmond are using old Windows 10 code with a few optical changes. So they are really building old Windows 10 bugs into this new great Windows 11. A German blog reader pointed out to me that Windows 11 also floods folders with empty TMP directory garbage (a bug still existing since months in Windows 10).

Recently, Microsoft had to admit a TPM vulnerability (Card Blanche) for its Surface Pro 3 and sent a corresponding security notification around. In addition, a vulnerability in the TPM chip of the Surface Pro 3 has been known for a year, for which an update is available. I'll summarize some information there.
[German]A brief information for readers who occasionally need to transfer a Windows installation to a virtual machine. Microsoft has released the disk2vhd v2.02 tool in the free Sysinternals suite in October 2021. The tool lets you have a Windows installation transferred to a .vhd disk that can then be run with Virtual PC or Hyper-V.
[German]I would like to once again flush up a security issue that affects users of Windows systems. In September, it became known that a vulnerability in WPBT allows attackers to install a rootkit on Windows machines. There is virtually nothing users can do about it and they have to hope for Microsoft's security features like WDAC.
[German]Microsofthas released a security advisory for the Edge browser as of October 29, 2021, updating the browser to version 95.0.1020.40. The update also closed vulnerabilities reported to the Chromium team.
[German]I had also reported in the blog post Windows 11 IoT Enterprise only with 36 months support that the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise would be available soon. Microsoft has now announced in this Techcommunity post dated 10/26/2021 that Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 has reached RTM status. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 has therefore been released to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This version will be available in two editions Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, version 21H2 and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021. (via)
