Adobe Acrobat (Reader) DC 2021.007.20099

[German]Adobe is releasing a security update for Adobe Acrobat (Reader) DC to version 21.005.20099 on October 12, 2021, which is intended to patch vulnerabilities considered critical and important according to APSB21-104. The release notes contain the download addresses for the Windows and macOS installers, as well as notes on what (important) bugs have been fixed. (via)

Ransomware infection at part of Airbus works council (Oct. 2021)

The impact is limited to the computer network of this entity.

Windows 11: WSL is available as preview from Microsoft Store

Windows[German]Microsoft has made the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) available for Windows 11 – currently as a preview – as a download from the Microsoft Store. The WSL will be removed as an optional component from Windows 11 itself. This step should allow updates to be rolled out more quickly. In addition, the whole thing decouples WSL from the actual operating system. Windows 11: App issues and Brother USB printers doesn't print

Windows[German]The issues with Windows 11, which will be officially released by Microsoft on October 5, 2021, are slowly piling up. In the blog post Windows 11: Known issues (October 5, 2021), I had already reported about three problems admitted by Microsoft. Among other things, Virtualbox is not compatible. There is also a memory leak in Explorer (see AMD warns: CPUs run up to 15% slower with Windows 11). On AMD CPUs, there are also performance losses (see Windows 11: File Explorer has a Memory Leak). Now it turns out that certain apps are causing trouble because of registry entries. And it looks like Brother printers connected via USB can't print.

Swiss municipality of Montreux victim of cyber attack
