[German]As of October 12, 2021, the first cumulative updates for Windows 11 have been released, and even though Microsoft has said that machines that do not meet the minimum requirements may not receive updates, many users have reported that such machines have installed the updates without any problems. But a case has been reported to me by a blog reader where Windows 11 guests in Hyper-V can't install updates.

Do incompatible machines get updates?
Microsoft has set rather strong minimum hardware compatibility requirements for Windows 11 (see Windows 11: Hardware requirements). However, in the blog post Windows 11: Microsoft specifies hardware requirements, no blocking on incompatible devices, I had mentioned that Microsoft will not block new installations of Windows 11 on systems that do not meet the minimum CPU and TMP 2.0 requirements. However, there was also a clear statement that Microsoft advises against running such systems and does not guarantee that they will get updates and driver updates in the future. Shortly after the first cumulative update for Windows 11 was distributed on October 12 (Patchday: Windows 11 Updates (October 12, 2021)), however, there were success stories that it had also been installed on non-compatible machines. There is this post from Windows Central as an example.
Hyper-V guest can't install updates
Now German blog reader Samuel B. contacted me by email on October 15, 2021, and pointed out problems with his environment (thanks for that). I'll post his observation here on the blog.

I take the liberty to send you my question via email.
I have been trying to run Windows 11 in a Hyper-V VM under Windows 10 Pro for quite some time. Until now, this actually worked fine. However, recently I have been unable to install newer updates, they always fail with the same error.
The HealthCheck tool shows within the Win11 VM that the processor is NOT compatible.
TPM and Secure Boot and all other checkpoints are ok. Only the processor is identified as incompatible. In Hyper-V I see no way to emulate a virtual processor.
Samuel asks: What can I do to successfully run Windows 11 Pro (is enabled, by the way) in the VM and update it regularly? Do you have any advice? There doesn't seem to be anything on Google about this yet. So I'm posting it here on the blog for discussion. Has anyone else had this experience? Any ideas on what the problem is?
