Microsoft Surface Hub 2S with Teams Rooms on Windows announced

[German]Microsoft has just announced that the Surface Hub 2S will become a member of the Microsoft Teams Rooms family and will probably be launched at the end of 2023. The device, which is intended for collaboration in companies during meetings with its large 50-inch screen, will then be delivered together with "Teams Rooms". Existing Surface Hub 2S devices will later be given the option to update to Teams Rooms.

Exchange Online blocks mail from on-premises Exchange servers with vulnerabilities

[English]Microsoft has just unveiled a new security policy for Exchange Online that can block the acceptance of email from insecure on-premises Exchange servers (in hybrid environments). The administrators in question will receive a notification that the on-premises Exchange server is vulnerable. If there is no response within 90 days, Exchange Online refuses to accept further e-mails. In the future, this will primarily eliminate systems with on-premises Exchange Server 2007, 2010 and, from April 2023, 2013 that have fallen out of support.

Microsoft Guidelines for investigating attacks using CVE-2023-23397

[German]Microsoft is not getting any rest because of the critical Outlook vulnerability CVE-2023-23397. Even though there was a patch as of March 14, 2023, the vulnerability is not 100 percent closed. Phishing Scams 3.0 abuses iCloud, PayPal, Google Docs & Co.

Reminder: UUP updates for Windows coming March 28, 2023

Windows[German]Brief reminder for administrators in enterprise environments. On March 28, 2023, Microsoft will turn on its Unified Update Platform (UUP). This applies to Windows 11 version 22H2 for now and is intended to bring the power of Windows Update and Windows Update for Business to local Windows clients. It will be delivered with an update, but administrators may need to prepare WSUS or SCCM accordingly.

Microsoft Cloud: It will become more expensive from April 1, 2023 in Europe

[German]No, it's not an April Fool's joke – it's still March. But as of April 1, 2023, Microsoft's cloud offerings will simply become a bit more expensive. True, it had already been announced in January 2023 – no one really took note of that either. Microsoft is thus heralding a new policy in which the subscription prices are to be reviewed every six months and adjusted to the dollar prices if necessary.

Edge 111.0.1661.54 allows to disable Bing button

Edge[German]The daily Edge update give us today. Yesterday I had published the blog post Edge: 111.0.1661.51; 110.0.1587.78; and 109.0.1518.95 (for Server 2012 R2); disable Bing button and PDF test. A couple of howrs later, Microsoft is pushing the update to version 111.0.1661.54 for the browser on March 24, 2023. Now the sidebar of the discover button (Bing button) can be disabled.

Edge: 111.0.1661.51; 110.0.1587.78; and 109.0.1518.95 (for Server 2012 R2); disable Bing button and PDF test

Edge[German]Microsoft has updated the Edge browser to version 111.0.1661.51 on March 21, 2023 in the Stable Channel, and there is version 110.0.1587.78 in the Extended Stable Channel. In addition, there is probably a version 109.0.1518.95 that should run on Windows Server 2012 R2. I'll summarize this in a collective post and also have two tips on how to hide the annoying Bing button in Edge 111 as well as how to stop the Adobe PDF integration ads.
