Windows 11: These features disappear

Windows[German]With the introducing of Windows 11 on June 24, 2021 (seeYes, Microsoft introduced Windows 11), Microsoft is ushering in a new era and plans to phase out Windows 10 in 2025 (see Will Windows 10 end on October 14, 2025? A bit …). Similar to new Windows 10 versions, Microsoft will also let various features disappear in Windows 11 or declare them obsolete. The only astonishing thing is that this happens long before the operating system is available.

Windows 11 Compatibility tests (PC Health Check, WhyNotWin11)

Windows[German]Microsoft has published a larger list of requirements that a machine must or should fulfill for the new operating system after the presentation of Windows 11 (see Yes, Microsoft has presented Windows 11). An overview can be found in the article Windows 11: Hardware requirements. However, to check whether a machine meets the requirements for Windows 11, there is a (now updated) PC Health Check tool from Microsoft, as well as the WhyNotWin11 tool, which provides more details.

Credit card data disclosed at Mercedes-Benz in data protection incident

Microsoft Edge 91.0.864.59

Edge[German]Following the Chrome update (to version 91.0.4472.123/.124 for Windows, see) hMicrosoft has also updated the Edge browser to version 91.0.864.59 as of June 24, 2021. The security update fixes vulnerabilities CVE-2021-34506 and CVE-2021-34475, which have already been fixed in Google Chrome. The release notes available on this page do not provide too much information.

New design with rounded corner, Microsoft Teams integration, improved gaming, widget for desktop, Android app, a new store, optimized touch, pen and voice controls and some more, are the promised ingredients.
