This has become known because the ransomware gang has disclosed data from this cyber attack – the vehicle manufacturer Hyundai had only reported a "technical problem" in response to inquiries from Bleeping Computer.

Windows 11 version 24H2 announced, but no Windows 12 in 2024

Windows[German]Microsoft has announced the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26052 (for the Canary and Dev Channel) on February 11, 2024. What is normally quite unspectacular is this time causing "news in blogs and IT sites". With the presentation of this Insider Preview build, Microsoft has confirmed that there will be a feature update in 2024, which is referred to as Windows 11 24H2. It is set to be the only Windows update for Windows this year. This means that rumors that there will still be a Windows 12 in 2024 are no longer valid.

Windows 11: Copilot bug causing jumping desktop icons in multi-monitor mode fixed

Windows[German]With the updates for Windows 10/11, which were intended to provide the preview version of Windows Copilot, Microsoft also introduced a bug that has been dragging on since November 2023. Desktop icons can jump uncontrollably between desktops in multi-monitor mode. The problem was confirmed, but dragged on for months. Microsoft has now fixed this bug, at least in Windows 11, with a preview update from January 2024.

Dutch military network hacked via FortiGate; Volt Typhoon botnet in US systems for 5 years

The military network was hacked via a vulnerability in FortiGate. This is also relevant for other Fortinet customers. And it has since been revealed that the Volt Typhoon botnet, which was allegedly operated by Chinese state-affiliated hackers and recently shut down by the FBI, had probably been in existence for five years. The US security agency CISA published further details on Feb. 7, 2024.

iOS 17.3.1 released

Apple has just released iOS and iPadOS 17.3.1. According to deskmodder.de there is only one fix: "Text may unexpectedly appear twice or overlap when typing". Seems to have occurred in the Notes app, for example.

Windows 10: App throws "File system error" (-2147219196) – CPU not compatible

Windows[German]A small addendum for Windows 10 users who may have been receiving the error "File system error" (-2147219196) in apps such as Photos since January 2023. This should only occur on older hardware if the processor no longer supports a certain instruction set. Microsoft has found the cause and has been providing a fix via the App Store since the beginning of February 2024. This is also a preview of what Windows 11 users with non-compatible hardware can expect in the future.

AnyDesk hack confirmed as of December 2023; old certificate recalled – Part 10
