[German]German blog reader Christian contacted me yesterday by mail because he encountered a virus (Trojan) at some of his customers that was not detected by Microsoft Defender so far. There is not much information about the virus yet – unfortunately there is no scan available at VirusTotal. But I'll post the information Christian has already found out – maybe someone of you will find more information.
[German]Following the Chrome 91.0.4472.77 update (see Google Chrome 91.0.4472.77 with security fixes) on May 25, 2021, Microsoft released Edge 91.0.864.37 on May 27, 2021. The update fixes various vulnerabilities that have already been fixed in Google Chrome.
[German]Microsoft has introduced the "News and interests" feature in Windows 10 (first in version 21H1, later it was backported in 20H2) via update. An icon in the taskbar can be used to display the weather forecast as well as a feed with current headlines from news magazines. Since there are discussions within my German blog, I take up the topic and show how the display can be deactivated, for example.

Microsoft's Exchange team has just announced improvements for shared calendars in Outlook for Windows. These should dramatically improve reliability and synchronization latency for shared calendars and delegated calendars across all Outlook clients. The improvements have been available for some time in Outlook on the Web, the new Outlook for Mac and for mobile devices, and now in Outlook for Windows. Right now, about 10% of Outlook for Windows users in the Current Channel with version 2103 have received these improvements. Microsoft plans to gradually expand this rollout through the summer. [German]I already know why I don't let financial service providers or fintechs access my bank accounts via app. According to media reports, Swedish payment service provider Klarna experienced a serious data protection breach. Users who used the Klarna app were able to view the data and transactions of third-party users for a short time this Thursday morning (May 27, 2021). The provider took the app offline after the data breach became known.
[German]VMware has issued an urgent security warning to users of vSphere. The vSphere Client (HTML5) contains a critical vulnerability CVE-2021-21985 that could allow remote code execution due to a lack of input validation in the Virtual SAN Health Check plug-in, which is enabled by default in vCenter Server. A second vulnerability affected VMware Cloud Foundation. Security updates for the affected components are available.
